Lilongwe, Malawi — As the court prepares to issue a ruling on the bail request for UTM Secretary General Patricia Kaliati, a dedicated group of her supporters has gathered outside, undeterred by the rain currently falling in Lilongwe. The supporters, standing in solidarity, have remained in place awaiting the decision on whether Kaliati will be released on bail.

Principal Resident Magistrate Rodrick Michongwe, who is presiding over the case, has announced that he will deliver his ruling at 4 PM today. Kaliati is facing charges of conspiracy to murder, with allegations involving a plot against President Lazarus Chakwera.

Despite the weather, the strong presence of UTM supporters underscores the public interest and high emotions surrounding this high-profile case. The ruling is expected to draw significant attention, as it will determine whether Kaliati will continue to be held in custody or allowed temporary freedom while awaiting trial.
